How to Draw a Wooden Ellipse Mandala Ornament ?

In Sanskrit, Mandala means “circle”, in different spiritual traditions, it may be employed for focusing attention of practitioners and adepts, it acts as a spiritual guidance tool. A mandala generally represents the spiritual journey which connects outside and the inner core layer by layer.

But do you know how to draw it? Are you still taking a long time to a mandala? With Exlicon, it can never be time-consuming. Only follow these few steps below.

First choose a centre on the wooden board through drawing two crossing lines, and draw some guide dots to mark the dimensions that you want to expand simply by using the Exlicon circular disc which has a range of 10,12 and 14 degrees for all chamfered holes that are an excellent partner in making large complex grids. The Exlicon circular disc is your all weather and all design friend that you can put to explore your creative dimensions. Just direct the central hole of the disc at the centre you chose. Then, you can draw the dimension-marking dots. It can help you have a good start of drawing a mandala.

After marking the dimensions, the Exlicon long straight wing could be applied to draw several concentric circles with shorter radius, you can complete this step by a long wing and two pens. Pick two holes on the wing, the distance between them is the radius of the circle that you will draw. Put your pen nibs at the holes, set one of them fixed at the centre. Next, slide the other pen to finish the circle.

If you still want to expand your mandala, just use Exlicon base attached with short straight wing to create more concentric circles with larger radius. Simply put the Exlicon base at the centre, attach the short wing to it, choose a radius and put your nid in the hole to slide, then, you can get a perfect circle. Compared with traditional compass, Exlicon is a compass which will not leave any puncture holes after drawing.

Then, you can use the long wing to connect the centre and the dimension dots and further expand them. These lines act as guidelines for drawing the mandala petals in the next few steps. After that you could use the long wing together with the ellipse disc which has a range of 10 degrees for the outer line to add more details, it always helps you draw a golden spiral easily.

Water drop wing is another excellent part of Exlicon which is able to help you with the mandala petals. You could use it to draw perfect curves, even with golden ratio. Just place the curved hollow you preferred at your wanted position to create fine lines of mandala petals. All you need to do is draw whatever you want freely by Exlicon. Finally, you will get the outline of your unique mandala. Do not forget to fill two sides of the wooden ellipse board to make it more wonderful.

The last step you need to do is colour the mandala by your favourite colours.  When you finish, you get an excellent wooden ellipse mandala ornament. Exlicon is able to be used on not only paper but wooden materials.
